In case you missed it, the park introduced guests to all new adventures coming in 2022. The livestreamed event not only showcased the renaming and upgrade of the Safari Village area at the park, it also featured a brand new roller coaster coming in 2022, and what new scary and merry attractions guests can experience fall and winter 2021.
NEW in 2022: Jungle X-Pedition and Tumbili
Explorers wanted! The park is renaming and upgrading the Safari Village area of the park and introducing Jungle X-Pedition. At Jungle X-Pedition, guests will be immersed in a completely transformed jungle experience featuring a brand-new roller coaster, new signature dining location, all new retail store, and more discoveries to come – all richly themed to reflect the adventure of an archeological expedition.
One of these discoveries: Tumbili (toom-bee-lee — the Swahili word for “monkey”), a 4D Free Spin roller coaster that uses state-of-the art magnetic technology to control and induce spinning as the riders tumble along the track. Riders will climb aboard and travel up 112 feet on a 90 degree vertical lift hill and make their way back to the bottom as they spin along the triple stacked track featuring two beyond-vertical raven drops.

Halloween Haunt: 20 Years of Fear

Fall is back at Kings Dominion in 2021 with more fear as the park celebrates 20 years of Halloween Haunt. At Virginia’s Best Amusement Park Halloween Event, more than 400 monsters are unleashed through the park and guests can test their fears in terrifyingly themed mazes. Monsters lurk everywhere you turn at the park’s midways which are transformed into immersive scare zones. And, thrilling live entertainment to delight even the scariest of ghouls.
New in 2021:
New Maze: Grimm Woods – An all-new outdoor maze, takes you on a journey over the river and through the woods based on the tales of the Grimm brothers. Encounter Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf, Hansel and Gretel, the hungry witches of the woods and more.
New Scare Zone: Uprising – the undead have taken over Safari Village. Will their uprising be your downfall?
New Live Entertainment – Each night of Halloween Haunt will kick off with an opening scaremony featuring Majesty herself as she summons and casts hundreds of monsters out into the night. A total of four new shows will thrill guests with spine chilling music and dancing.
During the day, Kings Dominion is all fun, no fear and features fall family fun at the Great Pumpkin Fest! Before 5 p.m., younger guests can enjoy hay mazes, pumpkin painting and some of their favorite rides in Planet Snoopy.
Kings Dominion’s WinterFest is already known as one of the area’s most sought-after immersive holiday celebrations with brilliant lights and décor, world-class live entertainment, luscious treats and fanciful activities for everyone. Could it possibly be any bigger, better and larger than life? You bet your jolly elves it can!
Make reindeer tracks to Kings Dominion this holiday season for the Winter Wonderland Parade, an extraordinary Christmas spectacular found only at WinterFest. Each and every night, guests will be treated to a grandiose showcase of dazzling displays and extravagantly decorated floats with classic themes such as toy boxes, gingerbread houses and choo-choo trains. What’s more, singers and dancers from the amazing experiences all around WinterFest will join the merry procession to perform on the parade route. And maybe the Big Guy himself – Santa Claus – will join in this magical Christmas parade. “Yule” just have to come and find out for yourself!
