Due to the coronavirus pandemic, New Jersey’s American Dream megamall was forced to postpone its grand opening. The originally planned opening was scheduled for March 2020 but was delayed with the beginning of the pandemic.

The official grand opening took place on Thursday, October 1, 2020 and the mall is expected to attract visitors despite the ongoing pandemic.

Guests are now able to enjoy a variety of entertainment, including an ice rink, indoor ski slope, mini-golf course, as well as several other activity and recreational options.

Literally hundreds of retailers have already been announced, including Zara, Lush, Primark, Aritzia, and American Eagle. Most stores will begin opening in stages, with restaurants and other food options as well.

American Dream has taken measures to ensure the safety of visitors and workers in response to the pandemic. The center’s capacity in the first phase will be limited to 25% to ensure social distance. With the exception of the waterslides, wearing facial masks is mandatory. Theme park and waterslide visitors will require temperature checks. Mall hours will also be temporarily reduced.
