The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following closures on I-95, 95 Express Lanes, SR 112 and I-195 will be scheduled as noted below:
SPECIAL NOTES:
- Drivers should expect delays when traveling along the closure limits. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes during closures.
- Please note that there will be no construction activities while the newly poured concrete pavement cures.
- Construction related closures are being suspended from Friday, August 30 until Tuesday, September 3.
Contractors Begin Hurricane Work Zone Preparations
Florida Department of Transportation staff continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian. The contractor has been instructed to safe up the work zones. You may see crews in the area continuing work activities as part of the storm preparation.
Weekend Closures
Friday, September 6 through Monday, September 9:
- Two southbound, I-95 general-purpose lanes will be closed from NW 79 Street to NW 46 Street on Friday, between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 11 a.m., and on Saturday, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
- All southbound 95 Express Lanes from the Golden Glades Interchange to SR 112 will be closed on Friday and Saturday, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
- One lane on the westbound I-195 and eastbound SR 112 ramp leading onto northbound I-95 will be continuously closed, starting at 11:30 p.m. on Friday, August 23 until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, August 26. Both ramps will be completely closed on Friday, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 11 a.m., Saturday, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 11 a.m., and on Sunday, between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Go south on I-95, exit at NW 8 Street, then turn left on NW 8 Street.
- Turn left on NW 3 Avenue to access I-95 north.
- Three to four northbound I-95 general purpose lanes will be closed from NW 29 Street to NW 62 Street on Friday and Saturday, between the hours of 11 p.m. and 11 a.m.
- The northbound I-95 exit ramp to NW 62 Street will be continuously closed starting at 11 p.m. on Friday, September 6 until 5:30 a.m., Monday, September 9. Drivers can:
- Exit at NW 79 Street/NW 81 Street, then make a left at NW 81 Street.
- Turn left at NW 7 Avenue to connect with NW 62 Street.
- There will be a full closure of NW 36 Street, from NW 7 Avenue to NW 5 Avenue, on Friday and Saturday, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., to allow the project contractor to replace the traffic railing on the ramps over the roadways. Drivers should follow the posted detour signs.
Weeknight Closures
- One lane on the westbound I-195 ramp to southbound I-95 will remain continuously closed to allow the contractor to replace the traffic railing. The ramp lane is scheduled to remain closed until September 18, 2019.
- Tuesday, September 3 and Thursday, September 5 – Two southbound I-95 general-purpose lanes will be closed from NW 79 Street to NW 46 Street, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, September 3 and Thursday, September 5 – All southbound 95 Express Lanes from SR 112 to the Golden Glades Interchange will be closed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
- Tuesday, September 3 and Wednesday, September 4 – The northbound I-95 ramp to westbound SR 112 and eastbound I-195 will be closed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Drivers can:
- Continue north on I-95 and exit at NW 62 Street.
- Turn left at NW 62 Street, then go south on I-95 to access the SR 112 and I-195 ramps.
- Tuesday, September 3 through Thursday, September 5 – There will be a full closure of NW 35 Street and NW 36 Street, from NW 7 Avenue to NW 5 Avenue, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., to allow the project contractor to replace the traffic railing on the ramps over the roadways. Drivers should follow the posted detour signs.
- Tuesday, September 3 through Thursday, September 5 – One to three northbound, I-95 generalpurpose lanes will be closed from NW 29 Street to NW 46 Street, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. The third lane will be closed at 11 p.m.
- Thursday, September 5 – The westbound I-195 and eastbound SR 112 ramp to northbound I-95 will be closed between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:
- Go south on I-95, exit at NW 8 Street, then turn left on NW 8 Street.
- Turn left on NW 3 Avenue to access I-95 north.
Please note that this schedule may change due to bad weather or other unforeseen conditions. The closures are part of I-95 Design/Build Projects to construct five emergency stopping sites on I-95 from NW 62 Street to NW 131 Street, and replace the concrete pavement from NW 29 Street to NW 79 Street as well as the Intelligent Transportation System devices.
