Motorists traveling on I-95 South in Henrico should prepare for substantial disruptions during an upcoming construction project. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has officially released details regarding the planned closure of both the right and center lanes on I-95 southbound, specifically near Parham Road at mile marker 82. This work is set to occur over two days – Saturday, March 15, and Sunday, March 16, during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., contingent upon favorable weather conditions.
The lane closures are required to facilitate much-needed shoulder rehabilitation work. Given the high volume of traffic typically experienced in the Richmond area, commuters are strongly encouraged to seek alternative routes to minimize their travel delays. VDOT recommends using I-295 as a detour during this time, which should help drivers avoid the impacted area and maintain smoother travel conditions.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead, allowing ample time for trip, and to be alert for signs and detour instructions as they navigate through these changes on I-95.
