The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists crews will continue repaving I-95 through the Route 896 interchange, including on and off ramps, and through the toll plaza. All lane closures will be from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am.
Specific closures include:
- Monday, November 28th I-95 Northbound will have three right lanes closed from the toll plaza to the Rt 72 overpass, and the Northbound Cash Toll Lanes will be closed.
- Tuesday, November 29th I-95 Northbound will have a right lane closed from Route 72 to the project’s northern limit. I-95 Northbound Exit 1to Route 896 will be closed. The ramp from Route 896 to Northbound I-95 will also be closed.
- Wednesday, November 30th I-95 Southbound Exit 1A & 1B ramps to Northbound & Southbound Route 896 will be closed, as will the ramp from Route 896 to Southbound I-95. Also, there will be a right lane closure on Northbound & Southbound Route 896.
- Thursday, December 1st Southbound I-95 will have three right lanes closed from the Route 72 overpass to the toll plaza. Southbound I-95 Exits 1A & 1B ramps to Route 896 Northbound & Southbound will be closed. The ramp from Route 896 onto Southbound I-95 will be closed, and the Southbound Cash Lanes at the Toll Plaza will also be closed.
No work will be done on Friday, December 2nd or Saturday, December 3rd.
In addition to the closures listed above I-95 travel lanes will be restricted. A single lane will be closed at 7:00 pm, two lanes closed at 8:00 pm and up to three lanes closed at 10:00 pm with all lanes reopening by 6:00 am the following morning.
This work is weather permitting. Motorists should use caution and expect minor delays moving through the area.
