The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will be resurfacing a section of I-95, southbound, near Exit 5 in Portsmouth beginning Sunday evening, September 26, 2021. This work is weather dependent, will require temporary lane closures, and will be performed overnight, between 8 pm and 7am, for several days.
The NHDOT will also be closing the I-95 northbound Exit 7 on-ramp in Portsmouth for five days next week to accommodate continued paving operations on the Piscataqua River (I-95) Bridge and its approaches. The Exit 7 on-ramp will close at 6:00 pm on Sunday, September 26, 2021 and reopen by 7:00 am on Friday, October 1st. There will be a signed detour route and a police presence. This ramp closure is necessary to increase safety for our crews and members of the traveling public.
In addition, nighttime paving on the Piscataqua River Bridge will require lane closures, on the northbound and southbound lanes, weather permitting for several nights.
Warning signs will be posted and motorists are encouraged to use caution when driving through the work zone.
