The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-95 construction and maintenance operations through Friday, September 28,2018:
New Traffic Patterns
- Providence: The previous traffic pattern with lane splits on I-95 North and South at Exit 19 has been modified, with all lanes now shifted to the left.
Overnight
- Cranston: I-95 North and South, from Exit 16 (Elmwood Ave.) North and Exit 16B (Elmwood Ave.) South to Huntington Viaduct Bridge, alternating lane closures for bridge painting, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 28 to 29, lane and temporary ramp closures for sign installation, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Follow signed detours.
- Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 26 to Exit 28, lane closures for construction, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please note: one lane will close at 9 p.m. and a second at 10 p.m.
- Providence: I-95 South, from the Point St. on-ramp to the Thurbers Ave. exit, and I-95 North, from the Thurbers Ave. on-ramp to the Point St. exit, two lanes closed for bridge demolition, Sun-Thurs. nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Providence: On the ramp from I-195 West to I-95 North, and on I-95 South at Exit 20, and at Eddy St., shoulder closures and ramp narrowing for bridge washing, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Providence: On the ramp from I-95 South to I-195 East, and from I-95 South to Eddy St., shoulder closures and ramp narrowing for bridge washing, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Richmond: I-95 North, from Exit 3 to the Tefft Hill Bridge, right shoulder closed for drainage work, Mon. night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Warwick: I-95 South, from Exit 12B to Exit 10B, alternating lane closures for a bridge inspection, Mon. night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Warwick: I-95 North and South, from Rte. 2 to Service Rd., lane and shoulder closures for construction, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 9 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- Warwick: I-95 North at the South County Freeway Bridge, alternating lane closures with one lane open for bridge work, Thurs. night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Delays anticipated. Follow signed detours.
Weekday
- Cranston/Johnston: I-95 North and South, from Exit 3B to Exit 7, watch for our crews in a moving operation for construction, Mon.-Fri. from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
