The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-95 construction and maintenance activities, through Friday, May 4, 2018:
Weekend Traffic Impacts
- Providence: I-95 North and South, on the ramps at Exit 22 (Rtes. 6 & 10/Downtown Providence), watch for our crews in a moving operation for sweeping, Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Expect minor delays.
New Traffic Patterns
- I-95 South, from Exit 19 (Eddy St.) to Exit 18, and I-95 North, from Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.) to Exit 20 (Point St.), lanes shifted to the right for construction through Summer 2018.
Overnight Traffic Impacts
- I-95 North, from Exit 28 (School St.) to Exit 30 (East St.), lane and shoulder closures for drainage work, Sunday-Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence: On the ramp from I-95 South to I-195 East, right lane closed for bridge washing, Sunday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence: On the ramp from I-195 West to I-95 North, right lane closed for bridge washing, Monday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence: On the ramp from I-95 North to Point St., right lane closed for bridge washing, Tuesday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to the Massachusetts state line, left lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping, Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day.
- Richmond/West Greenwich: I-95 North and South, from Exit 3 (Rte. 138) to Exit 6A (Hopkins Hill Rd.), watch for our crews in a moving operation for sweeping, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following day.
- Warwick to Coventry: I-95 South from Exit 10B (Rte. 117 West) to Exit 6A (Hopkins Hill Rd.), lane, shoulder and temporary ramp closures in a moving operation for sweeping, during the early morning hours Tuesday from 1:30 a.m. to 6 a.m.
- Warwick: I-95 North and South, from Exit 13 (Airport Connector) to Exit 14 (Rte. 37), alternating lane closures for bridge work, Sunday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Warwick: I-95 North and South, from Rte. 2 to Cowesett Rd., left lane closed for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
Weekday Traffic Impacts
- Exeter/Hopkinton: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), right lane and shoulder closures for construction, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Providence: I-95 North, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146/State Offices) to the Charles St. on-ramp, left lane and shoulder closures for drainage work, Monday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146/State Offices/Charles St.) to the Massachusetts state line, right lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, on the right side of the ramps from Charles St. to Exit 30 (East St.), watch for our crews in a moving operation for sweeping, Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expect minor delays.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, on the left side of the ramps from Charles St. to Exit 30 (East St.), watch for our crews in a moving operation for sweeping, Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expect minor delays.
- West Greenwich: I-95 North and South, from Exit 5A (Rte. 102 South) to Exit 5B (Rte. 102 North), bridge work behind barrier and in median, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
