The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces that with the start of the construction project on the evening of Sunday, May 7th, there will be a series of lane and ramp closures associated with traffic control set-up and preliminary construction work occurring throughout the week of May 7th through May 12th, 2023.
UPDATE–Sunday May 7th: Multi-lane overnight closure on SB I-95 between Rt 72 and the Rt 896 interchange, from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. Starting Monday morning the right lane of Southbound I-95 at Rt 896 will be Exit Only for Northbound and Southbound Rt 896.
Monday May 8th & Tuesday May 9th:
· Single overnight right lane closure on Southbound I-95 in the vicinity of the Rt 896 interchange, from8:00 pm to 6:00 am.
· Overnight ramp closure, SB I-95 to Northbound Rt 896 from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. A detour will be posted.
· Single lane overnight closure on Northbound Rt 896 between Old Baltimore Pike and Welsh Tract Road.
Tuesday May 9th: Overnight lane shift/shoulder closure on the ramps from Rt 896 to Southbound I-95, from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. The ramps will remain open to traffic.
Wednesday, May 10th: overnight single left lane closure on Southbound I-95 starting south of the Welcome Center to the Rt 896 interchange, from 7:00 pm to 6:00 am.
Thursday, May 11th: Daytime single left lane closure on Northbound I-95 starting at the Rt 89 6 interchange to south of the Welcome Center, from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.
