The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor will begin preliminary work prior to the paving of I-95 northbound/southbound from Churchmans Road to Christiana River Bridge.
On Monday, May 4, 2020, the right lane will be closed to motorists for approximately two weeks on I-95 northbound between Exit 5A/Route 141 southbound and Exit 5B/Route 141 northbound. This lane closure is necessary to replace a section of curb and guardrail in advance of the upcoming paving project.
Over the next several weeks, motorists should anticipate temporary lane closures to replace portions of the guardrail. Variable message boards will be posted to notify motorists of the upcoming lane closure on I-95.
The project will consist of the following: upgrades of the guardrails, milling, asphalt patching, and asphalt overlay.
Motorists can anticipate lane and/or shoulder closures on I-95 northbound and southbound from Churchmans Road to Christiana River Bridge. This project is anticipated to be complete by late-December 2020, pending weather.
Motorists should be aware that construction personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to the travel lanes and anticipate lane shifts.
