The Delaware Department of Transportation’s (DelDOT) contractor will implement nighttime lane closures next week for work on the new SR 141 bridge. Motorists should anticipate travel delays.
I-295 Northbound Shifted to I-95 Northbound on the following dates and times:
- 8 PM Monday, May 7, 2018 until 5 AM on Tuesday, May 8, 2018Rain Date: 8 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2018 until 5 AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018
The contractor will be shifting I-295 northbound traffic to I-95 northbound between Exit 5 and past the SR 141 northbound interchange before merging again with I-295 northbound via the temporary crossover. Exit 2/SR 141 southbound ramp to I-295 northbound will also be closed during this time period.
Detour Routes
- I-295 northbound motorists will use the right lane signed for I-95 northbound and stay in the right lane of I-95 and then use the temporary crossover just past the work zone to go back onto I-295 northbound.
- SR 141 southbound to I-295 northbound motorists should follow detour signs to make a right on Commons Boulevard, a right onto Churchmans Road, a left onto SR 1/7 southbound, and merge onto I-95 northbound.

All I-95 northbound lanes will be closing and shifting to I-295 northbound between Exit 5 and past the Route 141 northbound interchange before merging again with I-95 northbound via the temporary crossover. The SR 141 northbound ramp (Exit 3A) to I-95 northbound and SR 141 southbound ramp (Exit 3A) to I-95 northbound will also be closed during this time period.
