Lane and Ramp Closures, Detours for Work on Georgia’s I-16/I-95 Interchange Project

Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) construction partners will close interstate lanes and ramp at the locations below for the 16@95 Improvement Projects, which will widen I-16 and reconstruct the I-16/I-95 Interchange.

Daytime and Nighttime Closures

Monday, March 1, 2021, through Saturday, March 6, 2021, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Daily)

  • Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
    • I-16 eastbound from Pooler Parkway (MP 155) to Chatham Parkway (MP 164)
    • I-16 westbound from Chatham Parkway (MP 164) to Pooler Parkway (MP 155)

Monday, March 1, 2021, through Saturday, March 6, 2021, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Daily)

  • Right shoulder closures at the following locations
    • I-516 eastbound @ I-16 (MP 5)
    • I-516 westbound @ I-16 (MP 5)

Monday, March 1, 2021, through Saturday, March 6, 2021, 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Nightly)

  • Single lane closures at the following locations
    • I-95 northbound @ I-16 overpass (MP 98 to MP 100)
    • I-95 southbound @ I-16 overpass (MP 101 to MP 98)

  • Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
    • I-16 eastbound from Pooler Parkway (MP 155) to Chatham Parkway (MP 164)
    • I-16 westbound from Chatham Parkway (MP 164) to Pooler Parkway (MP 155)

Monday, March 1, 2021, through Saturday, March 6, 2021, 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. (Nightly)

  • Nighttime Closure and Detour
    • I-95 southbound to I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A)
      • Motorists traveling on I-95 southbound should continue past the I-16/I-95 Interchange, exit at SR 204 (Exit 94) turn left off the ramp, then turn left to access I-95 northbound, then take the I-16 eastbound ramp.

ADVISORY: Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution through the work area; workers and heavy equipment will be in close proximity to the roadway. Exact construction dates may change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Pay attention and watch for workers.
