The Rhode Island Department of Transportation has issued the following travel restrictions for I-95 from Saturday, May 5 thru Friday, May 11, 2018:
Weekend Restrictions
- Exeter/Hopkinton: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), right lane and shoulder closures for construction, Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North, from Exit 26 (Lonsdale Ave.) to the Massachusetts state line, and I-95 South, from the Massachusetts state line to Exit 25 (Smithfield Ave.), left lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping, Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ongoing Traffic Patterns
- Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 19 (Eddy St.) to Exit 18, and I-95 North, from Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.) to Exit 20 (Point St.), lanes shifted to the right for construction through Summer 2018.
Overnight Restrictions
- Exeter/Richmond: I-95 South and North, from Exit 5 (Rte. 102) to Exit 4 (Rte. 3), lane and shoulder closures for milling, Tuesday and Wednesday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence: On the ramp from I-95 North to Point St., right lane closed for bridge washing, Sunday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence: On the ramp from I-195 West to I-95 South, right lane closed for bridge washing, Monday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence/Cranston: I-95 South, from I-195 to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), and I-95 North, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to Exit 20 (Point St.), including the ramps, lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping, Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Expect delays.
- Warwick: I-95 North and South, from Exit 13 (Airport Connector) to Exit 14 (Rte. 37), alternating lane closures for bridge work, Sunday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- West Greenwich/Exeter/Richmond: Watch for our crews in a moving operation for sweeping along the following roads, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day: I-95 South at Exit 6A (Hopkins Hill Rd.), Exit 6 (Rte. 3) and Exit 5 (Rte. 102); the breakdown lane on I-95 South, from Exit 6A to Rte. 3; the left lane on I-95 North from Exit 4 (Rte. 3) to Exit 6A.
- Warwick: I-95 North and South, from Rte. to Cowesett Rd., left lane closed for construction, Sunday-Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- West Greenwich: I-95 North and South, from Exit 5A (Rte. 102 South) to Exit 5B (Rte. 102 North), lane closures for construction, Tuesday night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
- West Greenwich to Warwick: I-95 North and South, from Exit 6A (Hopkins Hill Rd.) to Exit 12 (I-295/Rte. 113), including the on- and off-ramps, partial right lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping, Monday night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

- Exeter/Hopkinton: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 (Hopkinton) to Exit 5 (Rte. 102), right lane and shoulder closures for construction, Thursday and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146/State Offices/Charles St.) to the Massachusetts state line, right shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping, Monday-Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146/State Offices/Charles St.) to the Massachusetts state line, and I-95 South, from the Massachusetts state line to Exit 22 (Rtes. 6 & 10/Downtown Providence), right shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping at the on- and off-ramps, Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Delays anticipated.
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146/State Offices/Charles St.) to the Massachusetts state line, and I-95 South, from the Massachusetts state line to Exit 22 (Rtes. 6 & 10/Downtown Providence), left shoulder closures in a moving operation for sweeping, Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Delays anticipated.
- Warwick/Cranston: I-95 North and South, from Exit 8 (Rte. 2) to Exit 16 (Rte. 10), lanes closed in a moving operation for pothole patching, Monday-Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expect delays.
- Monday: two left lanes closed
- Tuesday and Wednesday: two right lanes closed
- West Greenwich: I-95 North and South, from Exit 5A (Rte. 102 South) to Exit 5B (Rte. 102 North), bridge work behind barrier and in median, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
