The Maine Turnpike Authority reports that there will be a series of overnight ramp closures in the vicinity of Exit 45 in South Portland starting Monday, May 22 for approximately two weeks. The ramp closures will occur Monday through Thursday nights. They are necessary as part of the Exit 45 reconstruction project, which is in the final stage of construction, as the contractor is milling, paving and grading the area where the old toll booth was located.
The ramps affected are: Exit 45 Northbound entering ramp, Maine Mall Road entering ramp to the Route One Spur, Exit 45 Northbound departing ramp, and the Maine Mall Road departing ramp from the Route One Spur. The ramps are scheduled to be closed from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM. Only one ramp with be closed each night.
There will be on road variable message boards with up to date information. All work is weather dependent.
