The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) reports that the I-95 southbound off-ramp to Route 1 south in New London will temporarily close beginning on Wednesday, February 15, 2024. The closure will occur between the hours of 7:00 pm and 5:00 am.
Motorists can expect a temporary exit ramp closure to occur at the I-95 southbound off ramp to Route 1 south (Colman Street) in New London. Traffic will be detoured to the Briggs Street off-ramp, take a left onto Briggs Street and go over I-95, take a left onto the Frontage Road on ramp and follow Frontage Road back to Colman Street. Variable message boards will be set approximately one (1) week prior to the start of this project. Crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
