Double lane closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound Interstate 95 between the Chestnut Street and Edgmont Avenue overpasses in the City of Chester, Delaware County, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for construction to rehabilitate eight bridges over I-95 and CSX Railroad in the city, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.
The work schedule is:
- Monday, September 24, northbound I-95 right and center lane closures;
- Tuesday, September 25, northbound I-95 left and center lane closures;
- Wednesday, September 26, southbound I-95 left and center lane closures; and
- Thursday, September 27, southbound I-95 right and center lane closures.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent. In the event of rain, the contractor will work on Friday, September 28, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling on I-95 in the work area because backups and delays will occur.
