Motorists traveling on Interstate 95 near Fredericksburg will encounter lane closures and travel delays during the overnight hours beginning Sunday, March 5 through Thursday, March 9, as crews continue to work on the new Fall Hill Avenue overpass.
Crews will continue to clean and stain the new bridge, which is located at mile marker 131 in Fredericksburg, as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening project.
Lanes on I-95 will be closed on the following schedule, weather permitting.
Sunday, March 5
I-95 Southbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
- Double lane closure 10 p.m. ˗˗ 5 a.m.
- All lanes reopen to traffic by 5 a.m.
Monday, March 6
I-95 Southbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
- Single lane closure at 9:30 p.m.
- Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
- All lanes reopen to traffic by 5 a.m.
Tuesday, March 7 – Thursday, March 9
I˗95 Northbound at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue)
- Single lane closure at 9 p.m.
- Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
- All lanes re-open to traffic by 4:30 a.m.
Message boards will warn travelers to stay alert for work zones ahead and possible delays.
Motorists may consider using Route 1 as an alternate route.
