The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that overhead sign installation is planned next week on I-95 in Philadelphia.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

  • Monday, November 18, through Friday, November 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, a right lane closure is planned on northbound I-95 between the Cottman Avenue and Betsy Ross Bridge interchanges.
  • Monday, November 18, and Tuesday, November 19, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, the ramp from Columbus Boulevard to northbound I-95 will be closed and a left lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 between the Columbus Boulevard and I-676 interchanges for barrier installation. During the ramp closure, motorists will be directed north on Columbus Boulevard to the northbound I-95 on-ramp at Summer Street.
  • Wednesday, November 20, and Thursday, November 21, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a right lane closure will be in place on northbound I-95 in the vicinity of the Columbus Boulevard interchange.

The lane and ramp closures in Center City are part of PennDOT’s $329 million I-95 Central Access Philadelphia (CAP) Project that will replace and extend the cap over I-95 and Columbus Boulevard between Walnut and Chestnut streets.

The lane closures in Northeast Philadelphia are among the final tasks under the emergency bridge replacement project at the Cottman Avenue Interchange.
