Interstate 95 motorists will encounter left lane closures in both directions between the Washington Avenue/Columbus Boulevard (Exit 20) and Interstate 676/Callowhill (Exit 22) interchanges in Philadelphia on Monday, December 10, through Friday, December 14, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning for construction activities on a project to install a new underpass lighting system in the covered section of I-95 near Dock Street, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Motorists are advised to allow more time for travel on I-95 in the work areas because significant backups and delays will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.
In addition to installing a new underpass lighting system, PennDOT’s contractor is reconstructing five pump stations in Philadelphia and Bristol Township, Bucks County. All work on this project is scheduled to be completed in December 2019.
