The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin day work for the on I-95 Southbound and will start from the Exit 7 off ramp (MM 15.4) to the Exit 5 off ramp (MM 14.2).
This work will consist of snow removal, repair of crash attenuator barrels and extension of portable concrete barrier along the Exit 7 On Ramp.
Weather dependent, this work is scheduled to be done between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm on Wednesday February 26, 2025 and Thursday February 27, 2025. This work will require the use of a lane closure, the right lane and shoulder of Southbound I-95 (from MM 15.4 to MM 14.2).
Message boards, uniformed officers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the traveling public. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

This work is part of the construction of two sound abatement walls and a privacy fence along I-95 in Portsmouth. Northeast Earth Mechanics, Inc. of Pittsfield, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $18.7 million project, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2025.
