The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reports that Exit 22 off I-95 North and the ramp from Atwells Avenue to I-95 North will be closed overnight to prepare for steel girder installation at the new I-95 North Viaduct, and to demolish a portion of the ramp, respectively.
Motorists can also anticipate the overnight closure of Providence Place to demolish the old I-95 North Viaduct, and the daytime closure of Park Street for utility work. Please follow signed detours.
Lane closures within the project area on I-95 overnight to demolish the first half of the Smith Street Bridge and for median barrier work between the Viaduct and Smith Street Bridge, and during the day on Charles and Ashburton streets for steel repairs, are also scheduled.
