The Georgia Department of Transportation reports that, as part of continued construction progress on the widening of Colerain Road/Laurel Island Parkway, contractors will demolish bridge spans starting Tuesday, June 11, requiring mainline Interstate 95 detours.
The current plan shows 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. I-95 shut downs to divert traffic to the off and on-ramps during bridge demolition.
Weather and progress permitting, the contractors expect the following schedule:
- I-95 southbound closure nightly June 11 and June 12
- I-95 northbound closure June 13 with possible return to complete June 17
Motorists should remain alert to advancing warning messages and obey flaggers stationed at key locations each night.
