The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that the pavement rehabilitation project on I-95 between exits 2 and 6 north and southbound will begin on December 21, 2023. Minor activities may take place between December 21, 2023, and April 1, 2024. Construction and lane closures will start April 1, 2024.
This project will rehabilitate the existing bituminous pavement with a new more durable pavement mix. Traffic loops and signal loops on ramps will be replaced. Additional work includes replacement of catch basin tops, replacement of small traffic signs with no foundations and replacement of pavement markings.
This project was awarded at a cost of $61,283,925.38 on November 21, 2023, and is scheduled to be completed November 30, 2025.

I-95 Northbound
- Monday through Friday between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Friday through Saturday between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Saturday through Sunday between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
- Sunday through Monday 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
I-95 Southbound
- Monday through Friday between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Friday through Saturday between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Saturday through Sunday between 9:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
- Sunday through Monday 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
I-95 On/Off Ramps
- Monday through Thursday between 8:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
- Friday through Saturday 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Saturday through Sunday between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Sunday through Monday 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Exit 5 ramps will be closed Monday through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. of the following day as needed on days that are to be determined based on contract work requirements. Prior notifications and Variable Message Signs will be posted.
