The Georgia Department of Transportation continues to improve highway infrastructure throughout Southeast Georgia. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects continues this weekend and next week, weather permitting, beginning Friday, May 4. Closure schedules may change due to weather or other factors.
Lane closures by county are scheduled as follows:
Chatham County
Bridge Rehabilitation work (overlaying the existing Bridge Deck and replacing deck joints)
- I-95 SB and NB between I-16 and US 80 (Milepost 101 to 102)
- A continuous weekend lane closure will be installed beginning at 7 pm Friday May 4th and ending at 6 am Monday May 7th
Nightly single or double lane closures will continue through Friday May 11th from 7 pm to 6 am
- A continuous weekend lane closure will be installed beginning at 7 pm Friday May 4th and ending at 6 am Monday May 7th
Paving Operations
- I-95 From North of I-16/Chatham to Savannah River/Effingham
Sunday May 6th through Friday May 11th- Single Lane Closures from 7 pm to 7 am, milling and paving operations in the North and South Bound lane 1 (Inside Lane)
- Nightly and Double lane closures (Lanes 1 and 2) will take place from 9 pm to 5 am The Contractor will also remove the lane shift at Pipe Makers Bridge at MP 103 on Northbound I-95 on Sunday night, May 6th.
Camden County
Concrete Slab Replacement and Asphalt Resurfacing
I-95/SR 405 Exit Ramps
- A Detour will be in place from 7 pm to 7 am on the following days
- Sunday May 6th Detour of Exit 7 NB on Ramp
- Monday May 7th Detour of Exit 14 SB off Ramp
- Tuesday May 8th Detour of Exit 14 NB off Ramp
- Wednesday May 9th Detour of Exit 14 NB off Ramp
- Wednesday May 9th Detour of Exit 14 SB on Ramp
- Thursday May 10th Detour of Exit 14 NB off and NB on Ramp
