Motorists traveling near Fredericksburg will encounter lane closures and travel delays for I-95 construction during the overnight hours beginning Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 12.
Crews will be continuing their work to improve the condition of the bridge over the Ni River in Spotsylvania County. The Ni River bridge is located at mile marker 121 just south of Exit 126/Massaponax.
Crews will repair the joints to the I-95 overpass of Route 17 at Exit 133/Falmouth in Stafford County.
The following I-95 construction lane closures are planned, weather permitting:
Monday, May 8 ˗˗ Wednesday, May 10
I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Massaponax)
- Double lane closure at 9 p.m.
- All lanes will reopen by 7 a.m.
Tuesday, May 9
I-95 Northbound at Exit 133 (Falmouth)
- Double lane closure at 9 p.m.
- All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.
Thursday, May 11
I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Massaponax)
- Double lane closure at 9:30 p.m.
- All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.
Friday, May 12
I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Massaponax)
- Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
- All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.
Message boards will warn travelers to stay alert for work zones ahead and possible delays.
Motorists may consider using Route 1 as an alternate route.
