The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-95 construction and maintenance work in the Fredericksburg area thru Saturday, June 15, 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
I-95 Northbound and Southbound
Exit 126 (Spotsylvania)
Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. near the exit 126 (Spotsylvania) interchange for construction on the Route 17 (Mills Drive) overpass replacement project.
Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville) to Exit 148 (Quantico)
Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. at mile marker 145, the bridge over Aquia Creek. Bridge joint repairs. Northbound lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.
I-95 Northbound
Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)
Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure starting at 9:00 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. on I-95 northbound at mile markers 133-135 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction.
Friday – Saturday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure at mile markers 133-135 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension paving work.
Exit 140 (Courthouse Road) to Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville)
Sunday – Monday, 10:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. and Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at mile markers 141-143 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension construction.
I-95 Southbound
Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton)
Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. at mile markers 136-134 for construction activities for the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension. Double lane closure ends at 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure continues from 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday-Thursday mornings.
Exit 130A (Route 3 Eastbound) Off-Ramp CLOSURE
Monday – Wednesday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. The off-ramp from the Interstate 95 southbound local lanes to Route 3 eastbound toward the City of Fredericksburg will be closed overnight for milling and paving. Motorists should use the most convenient alternate interchange during the ramp’s closure.
Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) to Exit 118 (Thornburg)
Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Milling and paving between mile markers 125-120. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. All lanes reopen by 5:00 a.m.
