The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports the following traffic impacts associated with construction and maintenance work on I-95 in the Fredericksburg District from June 2 thru June 8, 2024. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
I-95 Northbound and Southbound
Bridge Washing
Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure starting at 9:00 p.m., followed by double lane closures starting at 10:00 p.m. for bridge washing at the following locations:
- Between Exit 118 (Thornburg) and Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) at mile marker 119 bridges over the Po River
- Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) bridges over Route 1 overpass
- Between Exit 130 (Route 3) and Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) at mile marker 132 bridges over the Rappahannock River
- Exit 133 and Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) at mile marker 137 bridges over Potomac Creek
- Exit 140 (Courthouse Road) bridges over Route 630
- Between Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville) and Exit 148 (Quantico) at mile marker 145 bridges over Aquia Creek
Exit 126 (Spotsylvania)
Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. near the interchange for construction to the Route 17 (Mills Drive) overpass replacement project.
Exit 104 (Carmel Church)
Saturday – Sunday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Static lane closures at mile markers 104-103 for bridge inspection at CSX railroad crossing.
I-95 Northbound
Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)
Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure starting at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. on I-95 northbound at mile markers 133-135 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension paving work.
Friday – Saturday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure at mile markers 133-135 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension paving work.
Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton)
Monday – Thursday, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Single lane closure at mile marker 132 to remove construction camera.
Exit 140 (Courthouse Road) to Exit 143 (Route 610)
Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m., Friday – Saturday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. and Saturday – Sunday, Midnight – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure at mile markers 141-143 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension paving work.
Exit 148 (Quantico)
Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. on I-95 northbound at mile markers 146-148 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension work.
Friday – Saturday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure at same mile markers for paving work.
I-95 Southbound
Exit 148 (Quantico) to Exit 143 (Aquia/Garrisonville)
Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m., Thursday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. and Friday – Saturday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. on I-95 northbound at mile markers 148-146 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension work. Double lane closure is permitted until 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure continues from 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. except Friday, June 7.
Exit 148 (Quantico)
Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m., Single right lane closure for maintenance work at mile markers 146-145.
Exit 140 (Courthouse Road) to Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway)
Monday – Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m. and Thursday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at mile markers 139-137 for 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension work.
Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) to Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton)
Monday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 a.m., Thursday – Friday, 9:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. and Friday – Saturday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. for paving and other construction activities for the 95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension at mile markers 136-134. Double lane closure is permitted until 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure continues from 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. except on Friday, June 7.
Exit 133 (Falmouth/Warrenton) to Exit 130 (Route 3)
Tuesday – Wednesday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Milling and paving. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. All lanes will reopen by 5:00 a.m.
Exit 130 (Route 3) Off-Ramp
Tuesday – Wednesday, 10:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Milling and paving may affect off-ramp traffic to Route 3 eastbound toward City of Fredericksburg.
Exit 126 (Spotsylvania) to Exit 118 (Thornburg)
Sunday – Thursday, 9:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. Milling and paving. Single lane closure at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closure at 10:00 p.m. between mile markers 125-120. All lanes will reopen by 5:00 a.m.
