The Virginia Department of Transportation reports that Interstate 95 southbound travelers should anticipate delays near Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) in Stafford County starting at 9:00 p.m. tonight, November 3, as construction continues on the new Truslow Road overpass.

The Truslow Road overpass is being replaced as part of the I-95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project. It’s located at mile marker 134 between Exit 136 and Exit 133 (Route 17).

A single lane will close on I-95 southbound at 9:00 p.m. followed by double lane closures at 10:00 p.m. near the Exit 136 interchange.

Starting at 10:00 p.m., I-95 southbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane then diverted into a temporary lane in the median. Motorists will then be shifted back to the travel lanes before Exit 133.

Weather permitting, lane closures on I-95 southbound are scheduled at the following times:

Tuesday, Nov. 3 – Wednesday, Nov. 4

  • 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Single lane closure
  • 10:00 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. – Double lane closure, with single lane of traffic diverted into median
  • 4:30 a.m. – All lanes open

Message boards will be posted along I-95 southbound to alert motorists to delays ahead.

Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control in the work zone.
