The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has scheduled daytime lane closures on Interstate 95 this week to inspect the interstate bridges over the Rappahannock River.
On October 18, single lane closures are scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on I-95 northbound at the bridge, which connects the City of Fredericksburg and Stafford County.
Motorists traveling can expect travel delays at midday in the Fredericksburg area each day through Thursday, October 21.
The routine bridge inspection must occur during the daylight hours to safely perform the work.
Weather permitting, the following lane closures will occur on I-95 northbound and southbound at the Rappahannock River Bridges, which are located at mile marker 132:
Monday, October 18 – Tuesday, October 19
- 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. – Alternating, single lane closures on I-95 northbound
Wednesday, October 20 – Thursday, October 21
- 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Alternating, single lane closures on I-95 southbound
