The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reports the following exit closures, detours and lane restrictions associated with I-95 construction through Friday, November 16, 2018:
Temporary Exit Closures
- Pawtucket: I-95 South at Exit 30, exit closed for bridge rehabilitation through mid-December. Follow signed detours.
- Providence/East Providence: As part of ongoing repairs to the Washington Bridge Westbound, Exit 3 (Gano St.) off of I-195 West is closed through Fall 2019. Follow signed detour.
Ongoing Traffic Patterns
- Providence: The previous traffic pattern with lane splits on I-95 North and South at Exit 19 has been modified, with all lanes now shifted to the left.
- Providence/East Providence: I-195 West and East, from the Washington Bridge to the Mass. line, lane shifts in place.
Overnight Closures
- Cranston: I-95 North and South, from Exit 16 (Elmwood Ave.) North and Exit 16B (Elmwood Ave.) South to Huntington Viaduct Bridge, alternating lane closures for bridge painting, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please note: the following access roads and ramps will be temporarily closed during this operation, Sun.-Thurs. nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.: Access Rd. off I-95 South at Exit 16B; the ramp from I-95 South to Rte. 10 South toward Rte. 12 (Park Ave.); and the on-ramp from Rte. 10 North to I-95 South. Follow signed detours to the Reservoir Ave. interchange.
- Cranston: I-95 North at the Park Ave. overpass, alternating lane closures for survey work, Mon. night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Tues.-Thurs. nights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Hopkinton/Richmond: I-95 North and South, from Exit 2 to Exit 3, right lane closures for bridge work, Tues.-Thurs. nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from the Main St. overpass to Exit 28, alternating lane closures for drainage work, Mon. night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Tues. and Wed. nights from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 28 to Exit 30, alternating lane closures for sign installation, Mon. night from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. and Tues.-Thurs. nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Providence: I-95 North at Exit 22A, ramp narrowing for a bridge inspection, Thurs. night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
