The Rhode Island Department of Transportation reports the following travel restrictions associated with I-95 construction through Friday, August 18, 2017:
Temporary Exit Closure
- Providence: I-95 North at Exit 18 (Thurbers Ave.), exit closed for paving, Monday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. Follow signed detour.
Overnight Restrictions
- Cranston/Providence: I-95 North and South, from just north of the Exit 16 interchange to the Oxford St. overpass, alternating lane closures for milling and paving, Monday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence: I-95 North, at the Clifford St. Bridge between the Point St. overpass and the Broad St. Bridge, alternating lane closures for construction, Thusday night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Providence: I-95 South, from Exit 23 (Charles St.) to Exit 20 (I-195), alternating lane closures for striping, Monday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Warwick: I-95 North and South at Exit 13 (Airport Connector), alternating lane closures for bridge work, Monday-Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
- Warwick: I-95 North, from Exit 12 (Rte. 113) to Exit 15 (Jefferson Blvd.), and I-95 South, from Exit 16 (Rte. 10) to Exit 13 (Airport Connector), alternating lane and shoulder closures for a bridge inspection, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
- Wednesday night: I-95 North
- Thursday night: I-95 South
Weekday Restrictions
- Providence/Pawtucket: I-95 North and South, from Exit 23 (Rte. 146/Charles St.), to Exit 30 (East St.), partial right lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for drainage work, Tuesday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Providence: I-95 North, at the Clifford St. Bridge between the Point St. overpass and the Broad St. Bridge, alternating lane closures for construction, Tuesday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Richmond: I-95 North and South, just before and after Mechanic St. and the Tefft Hill Trail Bridge, right lane and shoulder closures in a moving operation for survey work, Wednesday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Ongoing Restrictions
- Exeter/Richmond: Watch for construction vehicles exiting and entering the median area along I-95 South after Exit 5 (Rte. 102) at the Tefft Hill Trail Bridge, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Summer 2017.
