I-95 Construction | Baltimore Maryland | I-95 Exit Guide

Beginning Monday, August 15 at 9 p.m., the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close three lanes on the inner loop of southbound I-95 (I-95/I-495/Capital Beltway) over the Amtrak rail tracks near MD 450 (Annapolis Road) for emergency bridge repairs. SHA will open all lanes by 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Crews will again close three lanes at 9 p.m. each night through Friday, depending on the extent of the repairs needed. SHA will reopen all lanes by 5 a.m. each morning. However, this schedule could change as work progresses. Drivers should consider using southbound MD 3/US 301(Crain Highway) to westbound US 50 and back to southbound I-95 as an alternate route.

In June, crews placed a steel plate on the deck (riding surface) of the bridge above the Amtrak crossing. With access from underneath, crews will be able to make a longer-term repair. The upcoming deck repairs will further ensure the safety of the drivers traveling over the bridge.
