The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) and its travel plaza partner Areas USA recently announced electric vehicle charging stations are now operational at the Maryland House and Chesapeake House travel plazas on I-95 in northeast Maryland.

“This is great news for our customers traveling up and down the I-95 corridor,” said Deputy Secretary Lewis. “The charging stations are free to our customers, and you really can’t beat the convenience. You can grab a bite to eat inside the travel plaza while you’re waiting for your vehicle to charge.”

The Maryland House and Chesapeake House each have four universal charging stations plus one more station in a handicapped-accessible parking space. The Maryland House has eight Tesla charging stations and the Chesapeake House has ten Tesla charging stations (only for use with Tesla vehicles).

The Maryland House Travel Plaza is off I-95 at mile marker 82, between Exit 80 (MD 543) and Exit 85 (MD 22). The Chesapeake House Travel Plaza is off I-95 at mile marker 97, between Exit 93 (MD 222) and Exit 100 (MD 272).
