Detours as I-95 to Close for Several More Nights in Delaware Starting March 2

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that there will be multiple lanes closed on I-95 northbound and southbound between Route 1 and Route 896 from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am weeknights from Thursday, March 2nd to Wednesday, March 8th for bridge demolition.

I-95 will be CLOSED at the Chapman Road bridge for steel girder removal.

Southbound I-95 will be closed 10:00 pm Thursday, March 2nd to 5:00am Friday, March 3rd & 10:00 pm Monday, March 6th to 5:00 am Tuesday, March 7th.
Northbound I-95 will be closed 10:00 pm Tuesday, March 7th to 5:00 am Wednesday, March 8th. Northbound may also be closed Wednesday night, March 8th if needed.

I-95 DETOURS:

  • Southbound traffic will exit onto westbound Route 273, turn left onto westbound Route 4, turn left onto southbound Route 896 back to I-95.
  • Northbound traffic will exit onto southbound Route 896, turn left onto eastbound Route 40, exit onto northbound Route 1 back to I-95.

This work is weather dependent. Motorists should use caution and expect minor delays moving through the area.
