Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will close interstate lanes. The closures are necessary for tree removal and widening activities for I-16, work on the new I-16/I-95 Interchange bridges, and placement of barrier walls.
Daytime Closures
- Tuesday, September 7 through Saturday, September 11, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Daily). Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations:
- I-16 westbound from Dean Forest Road (MP 160) to Chatham Parkway (MP 162)
- Tuesday, September 7 through Saturday, September 11, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Daily). Intermittent right and left lane closures at the following locations
- I-16 eastbound from Chatham Parkway (MP 162) to Dean Forest Road (MP 160)
Nighttime Closure and Detour
- Tuesday, September 7 through Saturday, September 11, 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Nightly)
- I-95 northbound to I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A) (Map)
Motorists traveling on I-95 northbound should continue past the I-16/ I-95 Interchange, exit at US Hwy 80 (Exit 102) turn left off the ramp, then turn left to access I-95 southbound, then take the I-16 eastbound ramp (Exit 99A).
Advisory: Exact time may change due to weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, stay alert, and watch for workers.
