Update 11/27 @ 12:05 pm: I-95 southbound all lanes reopening at Route 141; I-495 southbound also open; I-295 southbound remains closed.
Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) officials report that a dump truck, with its bed elevated, traveling I-95 southbound hit the Route 141 northbound overpass bridge around 4:30 Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024.
The collision resulted in damage to the overpass bridge which is now in the process of being inspected by DelDOT engineers.
As a result of this incident, the following closures are now in effect:
- I-95 southbound is CLOSED at Route 141
- Route 141 across I-95 is CLOSED
- I-295 at Route 141 is CLOSED
This is an indefinite closure and there are already MAJOR traffic issues on I-95, I-295, I-495 and Route 13 as a result.
