The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a wrong-way detection installation will be performed at I-95 Northbound Exit Ramp to Route 1 in Groton starting on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2024. The nighttime work is scheduled for Wednesday evening, March 6, 2024, to Thursday morning, March 7, 2024. The rain date is Thursday evening, March 7, 2024, to Friday morning, March 8, 2024.
Motorists can expect a temporary ramp closure to occur at the I-95 Northbound exit ramp to Route 1 in Groton. A detour will be in place at this location. Traffic will be detoured to Route 117 southbound to Route 1 in Groton. Variable message boards will be set up approximately one (1) week prior to the start of this project. Crash attenuator vehicles and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The nighttime work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
