The much anticipated Spanish River Boulevard exit on I-95 northbound in Florida is now open, surely welcomed news to travelers waiting for traffic relief on Boca Raton’s most congested thoroughfare.
The northbound I-95 exit opening is part of a $69 million interchange project to relieve Interstate 95 traffic congestion through Boca Raton.
The new Spanish River Boulevard exit takes traffic to FAU Boulevard and the Florida Atlantic University campus. It also connects to Spanish River Boulevard and a new bridge over I-95.
Several ramps and ancillary structures still remain under construction, as well as widening and final paving of all new construction.
Florida Department of Transportation officials report that the project is more than 95 percent complete and scheduled to end by November 30.
