The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that bridge work will take place at night next week on northbound I-95 in South Philadelphia under a project to perform high-priority repairs on 27 I-95 bridges in the City, to maintain the functionality, safety, and mobility of the structures along this critical corridor.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

  • Monday, March 10, through Friday, March 14, from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, single and double lane closures will be in place on northbound I-95 just north of the Walt Whitman Bridge Interchange for shoulder construction.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Physical construction on this project is expected to be completed in late 2027.
