Nighttime lane closures and periodic traffic stoppages are scheduled next week on Interstate 95 for construction at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange in Philadelphia, for ramp construction, the Pennsylvania Department of transportation announced.
I-95 construction is scheduled for Monday, January 9, through Thursday, January 19, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, when intermittent single and double lane closures will occur on northbound and southbound I-95 at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange for material deliveries, construction equipment mobilization and beam placement for the new overhead ramp to the Betsy Ross Bridge. In addition, periodic 15-minute stoppages are planned at the interchange each morning between 12:01 AM and 5:00 AM.
Motorists are advised to use an alternate route or allow more time for travel on I-95 because backups will occur during construction. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
This I-95 construction work is associated with a $160.2 million project to improve the ramp system at the Betsy Ross Bridge/Aramingo Avenue Interchange.
