Clarks Inn and Restaurant – Santee, SC

Location: I-95 Exit 98, Santee, South Carolina

When one drives up to the front of this place one would expect that this is a high-priced place to eat. What a nice surprise to find a delicious, reasonably priced luncheon buffet with elicious fried chicken, southern casseroles, lots of veggies and salad bar, plus homemade soups and desserts, ie, blueberry and peach cobbler. One could also order ala carte, but this was a wonderful value.

We love to stay here overnight and have one of their breakfasts. This place is within the sight of the I-95, but the food is within sight of “heaven”. We recommend it!

  1. Santee, SC is midway from our home in VA to our destination in FL, so it is a good place to stay overnight and we often stay and dine at Clark’s. The hotel provides well appointed and reasonably priced accomodation and we particularly like the convenience of an onsight bar and restaurant. We’ve spent many evenings having cocktails in the bar while watching a sporting event on tv or conversing with other travellers. The restaurant serves delicious food such as local catfish, a variety of pasta dishes or a chargrilled ribeye preceded by a trip to a small but sufficient salad bar. Breakfast serves standard fare but well prepared and served in a homey atmosphere, unlike the chains.

  2. Please advise…what are the room accommodations like in comparison to the hotels around Clark’s Inn? We are planning on staying there in late October. The chain hotels along Route 95 have been so disappointing.
    Thanks, Nina.

  3. My wife and I travel 95 a couple times a year. We look forward to eating there every chance we get. Highly Recommend! Great fried chicken. We stayed at the inn a couple of times too
    . Very nice and clean.

  4. Just had a wonderful meal at Clarks. While traveling from Florida to New York we were sick of eating at fast food restaurants and craved a home cooked meal. My 6 six year old said she wanted something healthy. We stopped at Clarks and they were happy to make her a BLT which wasn’t even on the menu. She paired that with a delicious baked potato. My salad was delicious and refreshing and my husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. We highly recommend stopping here. It was kid friendly and elegant with reasonable prices!!!! Thanks Clarks!
