Twelve years ago, four local guys decided to start Thunder on Cocoa Beach (ToCB). Over the course of the twelve years the Directors and longtime friends – Kerry, Mike, Rich, and Kevin – have created a family, fun-filled, four-day event that has grown in scope of race events, number of participants, ecologic attention, and effects on the local community. Each year the team works with a local charity. For the last several years, Thunder on Cocoa Beach has partnered with “I am a Freedom Fighter”. The Cocoa Beach beaches are home to varied wildlife. The ToCB team works with the Turtle Preservation Society to ensure all protective measures possible are made to the turtle population and their habitat are protected.
Thunder on Cocoa Beach team is very proud of the fact that offshore race event is considered the premier event in Brevard County.
Kerry, Mike, Rich, and Kevin have a mutual goal of bringing the most enjoyable event possible to the racers, fans and giving back to the community through charity partnerships and being ecologically minded.
THUNDER ON COCOA BEACH – This exhilarating, five-day offshore boat racing event brings some of the world’s fastest speedboats and lots of adrenaline to the shores of the Space Coast, stirring up some excitement in the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy live entertainment, dancing, parties and chances to see the impressive speed boats and racing teams up close at Race Village in Port Canaveral. After each day’s races, unwind at the downtown Cocoa Beach block party or a concert in Lori Wilson Park.
