Roz’s Chicken and BBQ is a great place to stop and grab a bite when traveling I-95. Roz’s is pronounces like the flower… rose. She has great food and an open buffet and menu to order from. She also has seafood as well. I recommend it!

You must go to Governor’s and see it for yourself! It’s a popular chain of Maine restaurants with a cozy surrounding, good food, and reasonable prices.

Ryan’s Steak House

We just returned from driving I-95 from I-20 in Florence SC to Philadelphia. We also stopped at exit 173 in Roanoke Rapids NC, and ate at Ryan’s Steak House. I have to add my kudos to the earlier message about this restaurant. Great buffet, really reasonable prices (less than $8 for the buffet and drink), really friendly and courteous employees. Recommended for everybody. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Roanoke Rapids- it’s a motel type, but clean and comfortable like all Hamptons, and a value at $56 for the nite.

Huddle House

Although I didn’t try the chicken, we stopped in Georgia at the Huddle House and I looked over the menu and it seemed to have a lot of southern specialties for very low prices. This is ery different from what I’m used to seeing as a New Yorker. They have chains all over the Carolinas and Georgia, look for signs along the way.
